Car Rental Crete Terms & Policy

Driver Age & Driving Licence

Driver must be 21+ years old, with driver’s license held for minimum 12 months, for car groups A,B,C,  23+ years old, with 24 months driving license, for all other car groups except luxury group ( L category) which driver must be at least 25 years old. All renters must hold a valid EU or International Driving License. It’s a requirement to rent and drive a vehicle legally in Greece.

Insurance Policy

The driver has the right to choose between the following types of insurance:

Basic Insurance : Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) – The basic package includes CDW / TP (THEFT PROTECTION) / FIRE PROTECTION coverage, which limits your financial liability in the event of damage caused by a car accident, theft or attempted theft, damage in case of fire depending on the discharge amount of the category. The underbody, wheels, interior and the glass are excluded. Roadside assistance is not included in cases where the vehicle is stopped due to a misuse by the renter or due to a car accident.
The level of damage liability is based on the type of vehicle and the category.

Medium Insurance : The Medium package includes CDW / TP (THEFT PROTECTION) / FIRE PROTECTION coverage +PAI, which limits your financial liability in the event of damage caused by a car accident, theft or attempted theft, damage in case of fire depending on the discharge amount of the category. The underbody, wheels, interior and the glass are excluded. Roadside assistance is not included in cases where the vehicle is stopped due to a misuse by the renter or due to a car accident.
The level of damage liability is based on the type of vehicle and the category.

Plus Premium Insurance :  This is the Full Insurance package wich includes FCDW +PAI, Advanced Roadside Assistance and WUG Insurance. The full coverage package frees you from any possible financial burden in the event of damage to the mirrors, lights and vehicle body caused by traffic accidents, theft or attempted theft of the vehicle. The underbody, wheels and the glass are covered. Interior damages are not included.

With medium and basic security option, a valid credit card in the name of the driver is required. No credit card needed only with Plus Premium Insurance.

Kindly notice that with each selected coverage package, the client / tenant is required to follow the general terms and conditions of the rental contract as well as traffic laws and regulations. In case of non-compliance with the provisions of the rental contract or violations of the laws of Greece, the renter may be charged for the full amount of damages and expenses.

In the following table is the amount of waiver needs to be hold as guarranty according to car category.

Minimum Rental Period

The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours). Rental days are calculated on a 24-hour basis, starting from the vehicle pick up time.

One way rentals

We provide one-way rentals, but only in some locations. Selecting the pick-up location in the search form allows you to select only the different locations we provide for drop-off. Oneway rental costs are included in the rental price, and there is no extra fee. If you need to return the vehicle to another location, you have to ask us by request, and we will inform you if it is possible and what the extra cost is.

Out of office hours delivery

This delivery fee is included in the rental price.

Payments methods

Payment for the rental is made upon receipt of the car in cash or by credit/debit card. In special cases you may need to pay in advance to confirm your booking (you will be informed in time by booking department).

Cancelation Policy

You can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed vehicle pick up time. Otherwise any prepayment is not refundable. After pick-up of the vehicle, any change or cancellation from the initial time schedule is not refunded.

You are not entitled to any refund in the case of no-show.

What is no-show :
- You want to cancel but inform us when your rental is almost ready to start.
- You do not turn up at the agreed place and time to start the rental.
- You do not present the necessary supporting documents - paperwork at the start of rental.
- You do not present a valid credit card in the name of the driver which has enough funds to block the guaranteed amount.

Fuel Policy

The renter has to return the car with the same quantity of fuel it had when collected. In case the car is returned with less fuel than the original (less than the quantity of fuel the vehicle had when collected by the customer), the customer shall be charged with the fuel difference based on the current market price. No customer refund is provided in case of the car returned with a quantity of fuel greater than that collected.

Geographic Restrictions

Transporting and driving the vehicles outside the island of Crete or Rhodes is not allowed.

Extra Charges

1. Additional Driver : 5€ per day. If driver is older than 75 years old, there is a senior drive fee of 49€ per booking.
2. Baby/Child seat : 5€ per day per unit.
3. G.P.S. navigation : 8€ per day.
